Apéritif Bar

$$$$

Chandeliers, leather, and a 1920s gentlemen's club mood, looking out over the Petanu River jungle from the Viceroy Bali.

Apéritif Bar sits beside its fine dining restaurant at the Viceroy Bali in Nagi, above the Petanu River valley outside Ubud. Honeycombers describes 1920s art deco glam: chandeliers, plush seating, and an indoor outdoor room that opens to the jungle.

The bar runs under Head Mixologist Panji Wisrawan, winner of the 2019 Campari Bartender Competition, whose Cocktail Anthology menu pays tribute to the eminent figures of 1930s Bali across four families: Bold, Fruity, Creamy, and Spirit Forward.

Who would hate it? Anyone chasing Canggu volume. This is a collared shirt room where the soundtrack stays under the conversation.

Dark wood, leather, and chandeliers evoke a colonial era club, with terrace seats facing the jungle canopy. Three Sixty Guides describes bartenders in white jackets working in measured, masterful movements while the valley goes dark behind them.

The Cocktail Anthology runs story length descriptions and serious technique; Dine and Wine Bali credits each drink to a figure from Bali's 1930s. House aperitifs are the quiet stars, led by the Papaya Leaf Amaro, and cocktails sit around IDR 200k plus service.

Order an aperitif first, then one Spirit Forward chapter from the Anthology. Skip rushing; pre dinner seats at sunset are the room at its best, especially before a table at the restaurant next door.

Resort guests, fine dining bookings warming up, and Ubud visitors making the trip for the room itself. Bali Buddies frames it as a destination bar rather than a nightcap stop, and sunset seats go first.
