Beer Republic

Craft Beer $$

Beer Republic on Sukhumvit Soi 11 has been one of the steadier craft-beer rooms in the city for over a decade. Eighteen taps, a deeper-than-expected bottle list, and a kitchen running good burgers and a credible chicken parma.

The bar sits in the middle of Soi 11's drinking strip but feels meaningfully different from the surrounding bars — no DJs, no dress code, no cover, just a long counter and a back room with table seating. The crowd is mid-thirties expat and the occasional local craft-beer enthusiast. Happy hour from 5pm to 8pm puts pints at THB 220, which is unusually well-priced for the neighbourhood.

The tap programme rotates weekly and posts on Instagram each Monday. The Republic Pale Ale — a private-label beer brewed locally — is the bar's house signature; it is on tap permanently and is one of the cleanest pale ales available in the city. The rotating US west-coast IPA tap is the second-strongest order, and the Belgian sour rotation is unusually serious for a bar of this size.

Beer Republic works best as a long after-work first stop rather than a late-night destination. Pints from 6pm, a burger at 7.30pm, maybe one more before heading to whatever Soi 11 club someone in the group wants to try. Reliable, unpretentious, fairly priced.

Best time to visit: Weekday evenings before 9pm for a quieter version of the room; weekends after 9pm for the busier one. Reservations recommended where the bar accepts them.
