Le Club Bacán

Inside Hotel Casa Lucía, Martín Suaya's salon mixes signature cocktails by a fireplace, surrounded by leather couches and black and white portraits of Argentine musicians.

Le Club Bacán runs the bar program inside Hotel Casa Lucía at Arroyo 841, the Recoleta opening Time listed among the World's Greatest Places 2024. Master bartender Martín Suaya directs the room, and SalPimenta describes a menu built as a journey through rock, tango, and Argentine folklore.

The salon premieres a new signature cocktail every month and backs the list with more than 400 Argentine wine labels. Food runs from noon to 11pm: burgers, a club sandwich, and charcuterie boards.

Who would hate it? Anyone allergic to hotel polish. This is a velvet evening, not a dive.

The room works in intimate sections: a fireplace, leather couches, and nooks under black and white photographs of Argentine musicians. Mr and Mrs Smith's hotel review singles out the bar as the heart of the building. It suits a slow first drink as well as a midnight last one.

Suaya's list pairs the classics, from Negroni to Old Fashioned, with builds that read like Buenos Aires: a dulce de leche topped espresso martini and a strawberry infused gin and tonic among them, around USD 12 at current rates. The 400 label Argentine wine cellar is the quiet flex; ask the sommelier team for a Mendoza pour outside the usual names. Come hungry enough for the charcuterie.

Early evening belongs to hotel guests and gallery hoppers from the Arroyo art strip; after 10pm the couches fill with porteños treating it as a neighborhood salon. The 2am close makes it a genuine late option in a part of town that sleeps early.

The most comfortable serious cocktail room in Recoleta right now. Book a couch near the fireplace, ask for the month's signature, and let the wine cellar finish the night.
