Bar 44 is the only bar in Dubai pouring Krug on tap. That alone would justify the room; the forty-fourth-floor view of the Marina is the bonus. It is a serious champagne destination dressed up as a 1920s glamour bar.
The champagne list is the focus. The bar carries Krug Grande Cuvée, Krug Rosé, and a rotating list of grower champagnes alongside the major houses. The Krug Highball — fresh Krug poured over hand-cut ice with a long curl of lemon zest — is the signature serve and one of the simplest ways to understand why champagne is taken so seriously here.
The cocktail programme follows a champagne-forward house style. Most signatures use champagne or sparkling wine as a base, and the classics list is built around drinks that lend themselves to that approach: French 75, Air Mail, Death in the Afternoon, the Champagne Cocktail done properly. The bartenders here are unusually well-versed in champagne service — ask for a recommendation and you'll get a thoughtful one rather than the most expensive label on the back bar.
The room itself is small, dark, and lined with art deco detailing that flatters every guest. The view is best from the corner banquettes and at sunset. Reservations are recommended for weekends and absolutely required if you want a window seat.
Best time to visit: Weeknights early evening for a quiet seat at the counter; weekends require reservations. The room is at its best between 8pm and 11pm.
