Marini's on 57

Rooftop Bars $$$$

Book before sunset and ask for the window; the dress code is enforced at the lift.

Marini's on 57 has held the roof of Menara 3 Petronas since June 2012, and Wikipedia still records it as the highest rooftop bar, restaurant, and lounge in Malaysia. The terrace sits level with the Petronas Twin Towers across the street; no other bar in the city drinks this close to them.

It suits anniversaries, skyline collectors, and whisky drinkers who dressed for the occasion. It will turn away flip flops at the lift; the smart casual code is strict and enforced.

Three connected sections run behind floor to ceiling glass: a bar, an Italian restaurant, and a cigar friendly lounge. The Rooftop Guide notes the long slender layout puts most tables against the window, which is the entire argument for booking early.

The Rooftop Guide's reviewers called the hand crafted cocktails some of the best they have had anywhere, and the back bar runs deep into whisky. The bar side serves Marini's signature pizzas if dinner next door is not the plan. Prices match the postcode, the highest in the city; the view is doing half the pouring.

Dressed up KL, hotel guests on a big night, and a steady line of proposals at the window tables. Yelp reviewers describe staff as polished, attentive, and genuinely invested in the night going well.

KLCC below means Suria mall, the park, and the fountain show on schedule. For the opposite end of the altitude budget, the helipad pours at Heli Lounge Bar remain the city's best value view.

Arrive an hour before sunset for the golden hour against the towers. Weeknights keep the lounge calm; weekends need the reservation.
