The Rooftop crowns Beach House Layan, the three story beach building at the Anantara Layan resort. It opened in December 2021 under the line "Three levels. One destination."
The deck sits only on the third floor, but Layan has no towers to block it. The Rooftop Guide, which tracks more than 500 rooftop bars worldwide, rates the sunset view here among Phuket's best.
A wooden deck with lounge corners, cabanas, edge water features, and a stylish bar at its center. The design blends into the hillside rather than competing with it.
Below sit two reasons to make a night of it: Zuma, the international izakaya group's Phuket outpost, on the second floor, and Breeze, the all day beachfront pool bar, at ground level.
Resort guests, villa owners from the Layan hills, and couples driving up from Bang Tao for the sunset. The tone stays quiet; this is the opposite of a Patong rooftop.
Soi Layan 4 runs off the Layan Beach road; the resort sits at its end. Taxis know Anantara Layan by name, and parking is easy.
