Seville’s first downtown brewpub poured its house SON beers for ten years before closing in June 2024. This page stays up as the record.
Maquila Bar opened at Calle Delgado 4 in 2014 as the first brewpub in central Seville, brewing its SON house beers on site and backing them with six rotating Spanish and international craft taps. It closed for good on June 16, 2024.
CosasDeCome Sevilla reported the closure after chef and owner David Fernandez left to direct the kitchen program at the Querencia Sevilla hotel. The Tripadvisor listing closed out at 4.5 over roughly 1,389 reviews, which tells you what the city lost.
The room kept it simple: modern fittings, the brewing kit in view, and an open kitchen turning seasonal product into tapas, as CosasDeCome and local guides described it.
The neighborhood still drinks well. Start with our Seville craft beer guide for the rooms that carry the torch, or reset with gin at La Gintoneria five minutes west.
