TAP Craft Beer Bar

Craft Beer $$

TAP Craft Beer Bar in 100AM (Tanjong Pagar) runs eighteen taps with an aggressive turnover and a programme that leans US craft and Asian imports. The bar has been a steady fixture of the Tanjong Pagar craft scene for over a decade and the format has barely changed.

The bar is a long counter facing eighteen taps with chalk-board labels updated weekly. The format is straightforward: order a flight, order pints of what you liked, eat whatever the small kitchen is sending out. The kitchen does pulled-pork sliders, wings, and a credible burger; the pulled-pork sandwich is the right pairing with the bar's hazy IPAs.

The tap programme leans heavier on US craft than most Singapore bars: Stone, Sierra Nevada, Modern Times, Other Half, and a rotating cast of one-off cans that the bar tries to bring in monthly. The Hazy IPA tap is updated weekly and is the bar's strongest call. Asian craft (Yardley, On Tap, Heart of Darkness) makes up about a third of the lineup at any given time.

TAP is the right call for the Tanjong Pagar after-work craft-beer drinker who wants a wider US lineup than Druggists or Smith Street offer. Two pints and a sandwich is a clean ninety minutes. Happy hour from 5pm to 8pm puts pints at S$11–S$13, which is well-priced for the category.

Best time to visit: Weekday evenings before 9pm for the quieter version of the room; weekends after 9pm for the busier one. Reservations recommended where the bar accepts them.
