65 Fireflies

Aperitivo Bar Cocktail Bars $$

Two garden courtyards strung with lights behind the door at Solunska 65, at the quiet western end of the street, two blocks off Vitosha Boulevard.

The name is the address plus a claim. The Bulgarian city guide #soSofia repeats it straight: in the evening you get the feeling at least 65 fireflies live in the garden.

It has poured aperitivo here since 2017. Google holds it at 4.6 across 1,978 reviews; Restaurant Guru counts 2,992 at 4.5.

A small handmade interior wedged between buildings, 80s and 90s music, and the two courtyards that do the heavy lifting from spring to October.

The decor is boho by accumulation rather than design brief. It photographs better at dusk, when the lights come on.

A mixed local crowd that skews neighbourhood rather than tourist. Weekdays stay relaxed; weekends need an early arrival for a garden table, per Evendo's visit notes.

Doors open at 2pm, which makes it one of central Sofia's few serious daytime drink options.

The western end of Solunska sits five minutes on foot from Vitosha Boulevard and about ten from NDK metro. Bring cash; reviewers report cards are not a given.
