Bar Pun opened in Zhongshan in 2019 with a menu of cocktails whose names are deliberately, almost aggressively, puns on classic cocktails and Taiwanese cultural references. The bar treats the wordplay as the entry point — first you laugh, then you taste the drink, then you realise the pun is doing actual work in describing what is in the glass. Bar Pun keeps the menu rotating; the six above are the standing winter menu, refreshed roughly every quarter. The bar's seriousness about cocktail-making is sometimes obscured by the lighter framing; do not let the pun-list put you off. The drinks are properly built.
