10 Best Bars in Beirut

The 10 best bars in Beirut for 2026, ranked by our editors: Mar Mikhael cocktail rooms, Hamra rooftops, craft beer, and where locals drink now.

The short answer

Our editors' №1 is Central Station.

10 ranked rooms follow. How we picked is at the end of this guide.

Best overallCentral Station
Third pickIris Rooftop

Beirut's bar scene has been ending for a hundred years. Every generation gets the warning, civil war, currency collapse, the August 2020 port blast, and every generation finds the city still pouring. This is the shortlist our editors send readers to in 2026: the survivors, the rebuilds, and the rooms that bet on Beirut anyway.

Most of the action still runs through Mar Mikhael and Hamra. The strip from Armenia Street west fills bar to bar from about 10pm on Friday and Saturday, and the doormen sort you as you walk it. The list splits into two tiers now: crisis-priced rooms where a beer or a cocktail costs a fraction of Dubai money, and international-tier terraces priced for the diaspora and visiting press.

How we picked

How we picked

We weight three things: drink quality and consistency, the room and crowd that actually turn up, and value for a city living through a currency crisis. Each bar below carries a full profile in our Beirut directory, and we read thirty-plus recent Google reviews per venue alongside local coverage before ranking. Ratings cited are Google review consensus as recorded in our directory.

We publish the honest length. This is ten bars, every one verified in our directory and open as of 2026. Where we could not stand behind a wider claim, we cut the count rather than pad it. Names such as B018 and Coop d'Etat are real and much loved, but they sit outside our verified dataset, so we leave them off rather than rank what we cannot check.
