The 8 best tiki bars in Berlin

Editor's №1

Bonvivant Cocktail Bistro

Bonvivant on Goltzstrasse in Schoneberg is the rare cocktail bar with a Michelin star and a green star, now fully vegan. Drinks are built as pairings against a changing plant-based menu, more ambitious than tiki but worth the detour. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm. Best for a planned evening when you want the kitchen and the bar working together rather than a quick round.

Velvet

Velvet pours in Neukolln on Ganghoferstrasse, an award-winning room built around foraged Berlin plants, so expect black locust or knotweed in the glass. A tight team rewrites the menu weekly. Open Wednesday to Sunday from 8pm. World's 50 Best Discovery lists it. Best midweek when the bartenders have time to explain what they have distilled and you can watch it come together.

Green Door

Green Door has held Winterfeldtstrasse in Schoneberg since 1995 and took Germany's Bar of the Year again at the 2026 Mixology Awards. Ring the bell, step into a room somewhere between a salon and a Lynch film, and order a classic done properly. Best on a weeknight from 7pm before the award buzz fills it, when the team can pour at their own pace.

Victoria Bar

Victoria Bar has worked Potsdamer Strasse since 2001, a 1950s-style lounge that rebuilt faithfully after a 2022 fire. Sophisticated cocktails, bar snacks, an open-door walk-in policy and a crowd that skews grown-up. Open from 6pm nightly. Best late for a measured Martini in a room that takes its drinks seriously without making a performance of it. Skip it if you want loud.

Becketts Kopf

Becketts Kopf hides on Pappelallee in Prenzlauer Berg behind a dark door, ring the bell if the scissor-gate is open. Two understated rooms, seasonal cocktails and the patience of a real speakeasy rather than a themed one. Best on a quiet Wednesday or Thursday from 8pm, when you can get one of the few seats and let the bartender build something slow.

Truffle Pig

Truffle Pig sits at the back of the Kauz and Kiebitz pub on Reuterstrasse in Neukolln, behind a doorbell. Dark wood, velvet and gold, but it wears the luxury lightly and pours classically minded drinks with the spirit kept front and centre. Open Wednesday to Saturday only, from 8pm. Best late in the week when the small room fills and the team hits its stride.

Tiki Heart

Tiki Heart on Wiener Strasse in Kreuzberg is the closest Berlin gets to an actual tiki bar, all coconuts and Hawaiian kitsch, with a beer garden and a record-and-clothing shop attached. Cocktail specials run about 4.50 euros all day, and bands play at night. Best on a warm afternoon in the garden with a cheap mai tai, when the value and the daftness both make sense.

Würgeengel

Wurgeengel has poured on Dresdener Strasse in Kreuzberg for years, a 1950s-styled cocktail room named after a Bunuel film, all dark glass and brass. Well-built classics, professional bartenders, no theme-park nonsense. Reserve on busy nights. Best after dinner from nearby Oranienstrasse, when you want a proper drink in a grown-up room before the night gets messy. Falstaff and Difford's both list it.
