Henrique 18, Porto The Pitch Our Take on Ryan's Irish Pub Rua do Infante D. Henrique climbs away from the Ribeira quay past the Palácio da Bolsa, and Ryan's holds number 18 with the most convincing Irish room in Porto: two floors, a solid wood bar on each, and Guinness settled properly. Libero Guide ranks it among the city's ten best football bars.

It works as two pubs in one. Downstairs takes the match crowd and the big screens; upstairs slows down for conversation until the live bands start, Thursday through Saturday.

Dark wood runs floor to ceiling, broken by mirrors and breweriana, and the screens stay visible from almost every seat. Yelp photos show the room as it is: snug, warm, built around the bar rather than the tables. On match nights the downstairs floor is standing room by kickoff.

Pints stay friendly, well under the Ribeira terrace prices 200 meters downhill, and the difference buys the second round.

Erasmus students, Porto regulars, and traveling fans split the room. Saturday opens at noon for the early kickoffs; Monday the doors stay shut. Sunday afternoon is the quiet slot.
