Croma takes reservations by phone and WhatsApp. The terrace fills first on warm afternoons, and Saturday lunch runs straight into the evening crowd.
Croma Beer Co runs its brewery on the second floor and its pub at street level at Rua Harmonia 472, in the heart of Vila Madalena. The operation started as a nomad brewery in 2016 and opened this factory bar in March 2019. Revista da Cerveja highlights the barrel aged program and the pace of new releases.
The two floor layout is the selling point. Guests drink at street level while the factory works overhead, and Revista Gula frames the place as a micro complex dedicated to beer rather than a bar with tanks for decor. The output is relentless. Untappd ranked Croma the third most prolific label creator in Brazil in 2023, and the portfolio now passes 600 labels. The brewpub keeps about twenty taps, so the board turns over weekly.
Hops are the house signature. The juicy IPA family built the reputation, and the Sunshine took best IPA in Brazil at the 2018 Brazilian Beer Competition. Sours and Berliner Weisse styles cover the other end of the board, with fruited versions appearing through the summer months.
The room works as a destination, not just a taproom. A terrace handles the afternoon crowd, and the kitchen runs American leaning plates with beef and chicken wings. Hours run Tuesday to Saturday from noon to midnight and Sunday to 9:30pm.
For the editors, Croma is the brewing credibility anchor of the São Paulo craft beer scene. Always drink the new release first. It did not exist last month, and that is the point.
Saturday from noon, when the terrace is open, the factory upstairs is visible in motion and the weekly release is still on tap.
Hop chasers tracking new releases, terrace afternoons in Vila Madalena, and anyone who wants the brewery meters from the glass.
