SP Tap House

Craft Beer Bar Craft Beer Bars $$

SP Tap House takes bookings over WhatsApp and holds tables for groups. Friday and Saturday run from noon, and the tap wall is busiest after dark.

SP Tap House runs 42 taps of exclusively Brazilian craft beer at Rua Girassol 340, in the middle of Vila Madalena's bar grid. The house calls itself the showcase of Brazilian craft breweries, and the tap wall backs the claim. Every line pours national, and the board changes constantly.

The location helps. Rua Girassol sits one block off the main Vila Madalena strip, close enough to walk the circuit and quiet enough to hold a conversation. The format rewards repeat visits. Taps rotate through breweries from across the country, so the IPA you loved last month has likely given way to something newer. Staff pour tasters before you commit, which matters on a wall this wide.

The kitchen leans American. Burgers carry the weekday menu, and the Texan barbecue program brings brisket, beef ribs, buffalo wings and pulled pork on shared trays. The house lists a four person Texan tray at R$ 248, which sets the price logic of the room.

Hours stretch longer than most of the street. The official site lists Monday to Wednesday 6pm to 11pm, Thursday to midnight, Friday and Saturday from noon to 1am, and Sunday afternoons. The room is pet friendly and books tables through WhatsApp.

For the editors, SP Tap House is the volume play on the São Paulo craft beer map. No other room lets you read the national scene this fast, one taster at a time.

Thursday evening, when the week’s new kegs are on and the room has not yet hit the Friday crowd that fills Vila Madalena.

Craft drinkers who want the national scene in one room, barbecue tables of four, and Vila Madalena regulars with dogs in tow.
