The 7 Best Live Music Bars in Prague

The 7 best live music bars in Prague, from Jazz Dock and AghaRTA to U Maleho Glena and Cross Club. Ranked by the room and the bill. Updated 2026.

The short answer

Our editors' №1 is Jazz Dock.

7 ranked rooms follow. How we picked is at the end of this guide.

Best overallJazz Dock

Prague keeps its music underground in the literal sense, with jazz cellars and riverside rooms that have programmed the city for decades. We judged these on the stage, the bill and whether the beer holds up while the band plays.

Seven made the list, from the modern riverside Jazz Dock to the fourteenth century cellar of AghaRTA off the Old Town Square. Our full Prague live music bars list and the wider live music bars worldwide guide go deeper, and the Prague bar guide covers the rest of the city.

The Seven Worth the Cover

Editor's №1

Jazz Dock

Jazz Dock floats on the Smichov riverbank, a modern glass room that programmes live jazz and funk most nights with the Vltava sliding past the windows. The bill mixes Czech players and touring names, the drinks list holds up, and the early and late sets keep it busy. Book ahead for a waterside table. Go for a riverside set as the lights come up.

AghaRTA Jazz Centrum

AghaRTA runs live jazz every night from gothic cellars off the Old Town Square, named for the Miles Davis album and open since 1991. The vaulted rooms put you close to Czech and visiting players, and the bar keeps it simple. It is the jazz cellar most visitors mean. Go for a late set deep underground with a beer in hand.

Reduta Jazz Club

Reduta has run since 1958, the oldest jazz club in Prague, a basement room on Narodni below Cafe Louvre where Bill Clinton once played sax. The programme links traditional jazz to newer wave, nightly. The room is small and the history is real. Go for the heritage, a seat near the stage and a classic jazz bill.

U Maleho Glena

U Maleho Glena packs live jazz and blues seven nights a week into a tiny cellar in Mala Strana, five minutes from Charles Bridge. Sets start at 8:30pm and the room is barely bigger than the band, which is the charm. It gets snug fast. Go early for a stool near the front and a loud, close set.

Blues Sklep

Blues Sklep keeps an arched Old Town cellar off Liliova, a regular on the city's jazz circuit for over a decade with the accent on blues, swing, vocals and guitars. The bill runs nightly and the beer is cheap by tourist centre standards. It fills with locals and the curious. Go down the passage for a late blues set and a Czech lager.

Jazz Republic

Jazz Republic is a family run Old Town club on Jilska, open since 1997, with daily concerts spanning jazz, blues, funk, latin and fusion. Entry is free but you need a booking to sit, and the drinks pay the rent. It is an easy, broad church live room. Go for a varied bill, a reserved table and no cover at the door.

Cross Club

Cross Club is the steampunk warren of Holesovice, a multi storey venue built from welded scrap that runs live bands, DJs and festivals across electronic, drum and bass and experimental nights. The bar opens daily, the club runs late, to 7am at weekends. It is unlike anywhere else in Prague. Go for the build, the late hours and whatever is on the bill.
